PerfectTed has launched a pair of ceremonial-grade matcha concentrates. Sold exclusively at Tesco in Original and Vanilla (rsp £6.50/240ml), the concentrates are pitched on "speed, convenience and consistency": consumers pour, mix with milk, and drink hot or iced.

"Matcha has traditionally required time, equipment and know-how to prepare properly. We wanted to remove those barriers entirely," said co-founder Marisa Poster. "We're making matcha more accessible than ever before and opening the category up to a whole new audience."
Getting a shelf-stable concentrate to hold ceremonial quality took four years. Co-founders Teddie and Levi Levenfiche said a "team of engineers and scientists" worked "to solve what others couldn't: how to deliver ceremonial-grade matcha in a concentrate format that doesn't compromise on quality," calling it "a major breakthrough for PerfectTed and the global category."
